Once again, we come to the first part of our definition: A disciple is one who follows Christ. Disciples are affected at the head level—we acknowledge Jesus as Lord—and we follow Jesus as our head. This is what it means to believe. We can picture the first part of the definition this way: This head-level change is the first step, but as we will see throughout this week, there’s much more to this definition. Following Jesus leads to changes in our motives and actions, as we will see.
